Job Description
As an Operation Theatre Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and competent perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality surgical services within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsiblities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and sterile.
- Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other surgical team members during procedures by providing instruments, supplies, and medications.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, anesthesia administration, and surgical site integrity throughout the perioperative period.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families about preoperative and postoperative care instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of perioperative assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe and sterile environment in the operating theatre.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs within the surgical department.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families during the surgical experience.
Requirement
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operating Theatre Nurse in a hospital setting.
- Proficiency in perioperative nursing skills, including scrubbing, circulating, and post-anesthesia care.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in fast-paced surgical environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with surgical team members.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous professional development.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.
